My goals for 2019

Since this is my first post in 2019, I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year.
I don't typically like to set New Years resolutions (they never get done, haha) but I have few goals for 2019. A few things happened last year that made me change my perspective on life and I realized, I need to enjoy life more, be more productive __ not just follow everyday routine to pass days, months, years... So, here are a few goals I have for 2019:

In Marriott Marquis hotel in New York City, wearing all black outfit _ cut-out sleeve blouse, jeans and midi vest

1. Continue healthy lifestyle

Number one goal I have for upcoming year is to continue healthy lifestyle that I enjoyed in 2018 whenever life let me follow it... Hopefully, this year, I will be able to be more consistent (without head injuries or car accidents.)

2. Start weight lifting

This is something I have always been hesitant to try. I've been going to gym, doing cardio and some resistance training at least 3-4 times a week but never tried weight lifting because quite honestly, it was always intimidating for me. But in 2019, I want to challenge myself and start doing it.

3. Go back to reading

I always loved reading and it bothers me that I haven't been reading like I used to, since I had a child.. So in 2019 I'm planning to go back to my hobby.

4. Visit my home country

It's been 3 years I haven't visited my home city and haven't hug my mom and brother and you can imagine, how much I missed them. so, I'm planning to visit them in a few months and I can't wait. This is the most exciting trip I'm looking forward in 2019.

5. Blog more

This is something I always plan every year but let's see, if I can manage posting every Monday-Wednesday-Friday this time. I missed this space and missed interacting with you, my lovelies.

What are you planning to do in 2019 besides your everyday routine? Let me know in the comments below. Wish you all a wonderful week ahead.

  2. These are great goals, Nina and Happy New Year to you too. My goals for 2018 was to live more in the moment and I achieved that but the blog suffered a lot. This year I want to continue that and start on a fitness routine. We can do it, Nina!

  4. Oh my goodness you are going to love weightlifting! There is a hard period where you’re constantly looking up if you’re doing it right but once you have it down you’ll love it! I recommend taking a class like Orangetheory because it helps you figure out the right movements (and I’m addicted).

Good luck on your goals! Can’t wait to see how you do!

  9. I certainly hope you can avoid head injuries and car accidents in 2019! Those are great goals and I like using the term goals rather than resolutions. I go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week and work with weights some. I carry a book to the gym and read when I'm on the bicycle or doing leg weights (yes, I do get looks but they all know me by now and I'm busy reading, so what do I care?) and on the days I do cardio, I listen to a book (and when I'm in the car). I'd really miss my reading and my workouts!

  13. Sorry to hear you had so many health problems last year, I hope this year is going to treat you much better. I really like the outfit you're wearing in your picture. I like all-black outfits, they seem most elegant to me.
Hope you get to travel to your home country as well!

  27. I love how you posed the question about what we'd like to do besides our every day routine, because I feel like people more often set goals to incorporate more things to their every day routine. For example, I would love to continue my mostly-every-day habit of reading and would like to swim more regularly. I guess one thing I'd like to do besides my every day routine would be to keep in touch with my friends more; we all graduated last year, so it's been an adjustment! I'd love to coordinate monthly dinners with the few friends who are around, and perhaps send postcards and thoughtful gifts to the friends who are further away! // Happy New Year and good luck with your goals Nina! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's
