Puffer vest, skinny jeans and Black Friday

Happy Monday lovelies, how was your long weekend, did you buy something interesting on Black Friday? I don't know about you but my Black Friday is all about online shopping. I prefer to sit on my couch and look for great deals peacefully, than go to a mall, struggle to find a parking spot, and then, once I'm inside the building, try to pass the crowd so that I can somehow get to my favorite stores where (after hours of looking for those perfect pieces of clothes or cosmetics,) I will need to stay in a long line... No thanks __ I rather stay home  and shop online.
Those of you who dear to go to malls on Black Friday, you are my heros. Obviously, I did quite some damage to my credit card (haha) but the worst part for me is that now I have to wait until I receive my packages and until I see what I spend money for.

OK, enough about Black Friday, let's talk about this outfit that I was wearing few weeks ago. It was early morning, it was very windy and so cold that my hands became ridiculously red, but still,  I refused to wear jacket, haha.

Wish you all a wonderful day.

Where to take kids when you are visiting Dallas, TX

Those of you who follow me on Instagram must have seen in my InstaStories that I flew to Dallas, TX last week, to see my best friends. You know how it goes, when you have kids you need to think how to entertain them, especially when you are staying in new places.
I found out about this cute ICE Exhibit, featuring Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and decided to take kids there. The exhibit was located inside The Gaylord Texan resort & Convention Center, in Grapevine, TX, just few miles away from Dallas.

This winter wonderland was carved from more than two million pounds of colorful ice and looking at these colorful ice sculptures while hearing Christmas songs made me feel like a happy kid  LOL.

It was 9° Fahrenheit inside so they provided us long parkas for each of us, and we had to bring our own hats and snow gloves. Even though it was freezing cold inside, we enjoyed checking out all the colorful ice sculptures and kids especially loved ice slides.

Have a wonderful week ahead.

Fashion Nova black hoodie, black denim and my new Lexus RX350 F-Sport

Story of my new car

Happy new month, lovelies. November is my birthday month and I always get excited this time of each year, like a little kid haha. I hope, everyone is having a great week.
I haven't talked about this on the blog yet, but this summer I got in a serious car accident, the car that was driving nearly 40 miles per hour, crashed into my SUV... and without getting into details, I can say, I am just lucky that I am alive. It's like a miracle. I could die right there, my car was so damaged, we just threw it away.
After the accident, I refused to drive for sometime because the noise of the car crash was still in my ears and even though driving has always been one of my favorite things to do, I couldn't do it for a few weeks... Every time I drive through that road where accident happened, I keep thinking __ how life would be for my little daughter without me...

And finally, few weeks ago, my husband bought me one of my favorite cars at the moment __ Lexus RX350 F sport and slowly slowly, I started enjoying driving again.

As for my outfit, I don't know about you but if there was only one color I had to wear every day, it would be black. It's classic color, it's slimming, it's sexy, it's attractive, it goes with everything, it's easy to accessorize and etc..
I always feel comfy and confident when I wear all black outfit (and it happens quite often that I wear it.)

What is your favorite color? Let me know in the comments below. Wish you all a wondeful day.

Burgundy outfit for fall

Burgundy is one of those colors, that I can't imaging any fall/autumn without. Whether it's a coat, a bag, a pair of boots or just a lipstick, I always wear something in this shade, in fall.
As you can see, this season is no exception for me.

Usually, I don't go to all one-color outfit (except all-black outfits,) but I felt like wearing all burguny  that day. Here, I'm wearing comfy burgundy leggings, (I'm obsessed with legging this year haha), platform booties and bell sleeve blouse.
Since it was extremly windy that day, I layered it with this puffer vest.

Do you wear burgundy in fall/autumn? Let me know in the comments below.
Wish you all a wonderful week ahead.

Is it worth it to splurge on La Mer The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF20?

La Mer 'The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF 20' is the most expensive liquid foundation I've ever purchased so far ($120). Was it worth to splurge? __ Short answer is YES. I received a sample, back in summer, and loved the way it made my skin look, so I decided to purchase the ful size.

La Mer The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF20 review on Nina's Style Blog
La Mer The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF20

What the brand says about The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF20

'A weightless texture meets luxurious long wear. La Mer 'The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF20' seamlessly blends soft color, healing hydration and Miracle Broth. Pores look refined. Imperfections virtually disappear. SPF and antioxidants help protect a newly flawless complexion. Color capsule technology helps color stay true __ even in humidity.'

What I like about La Mer 'The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF20'

La Mer The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF20 is quite thin, liquid-y foundation that blends into the skin perfectly and gives light to medium coverage. What I love the most about this foundation is that It has SPF 20, it definitely minimizes the pores, covers all imperfections and overall, smooths the complexion, while giving it that natural glowy finish. La Mer The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF20 is like your skin but much better and glowing.

Staying power is also amazing __ it lasts at least 10 hours on my skin, without looking cakey, even in humidity, it looks and feels perfect all day.
I know, so far it sounds like a sponsored post haha, but it is not a sponsored post. I just genuinely love this foundation, but there is still something about 'The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF20' that I dislike and it is its strong smell. When you apply this foundation, you can smell (for some people, it might be unpleasant) scent that thankfully, disappears in 2-3  minutes. Even though, this foundaion is scented, it doesn't irritate my dry, sensitive skin.

Casual black T-shirt and olive leggings

Happy Monday lovelies,
It's been months, since I took outfit photos for the blog, and today, I finally want to share with you this casual look from this weekend. (These pictures are taken by phone so appologize for the quality)
Even though I've been blogging for 4 years, posing in front of camera is still not comfortable for me, because I was always behind the camera, mainly focusing on makeup and skincare photos. But I want to add more outfit posts to Nina's Style Blog and I guess, if I continue taking outfit photos, I will get used to, one day..

These olive leggings are the comfiest leggings I own at the moment, I have bought them last year but I couldn't fit in until now. Yes, it often happens to me that I buy something that doens't fit me at the time but I try my best to fit in, one day, just like these leggings.

For me, comfy outfit doesn't necessarily mean that I have to wear flats or sneakers, I can definitely walk in high heels all day, as long as the shoes fit right on my feet, like these black mules.

Wish you all a wonderful day.

Hermes Twilly d'Hermes Eau de Parfum review

Twilly d'Hermes Eau de Parfum is the latest addition to my perfume collection. This Hermes gift set, that I received from my husband as our anniversary present back in August, comes in gorgeous box and includes Twilly d'Hermes perfume in full size and travel size. The packaging  is so beautiful that it's almost intimidating to dislike it.

Hermes perfume,Twilly d'Hermes Eau de Parfum
Twilly d'Hermes Eau de Parfum gift set

The label describes this fragrance as floral, spicy, and oriental. Twilly d'Hermes was inspired by young, bold and unpredictable girl, But honestly, it smells kinda old fashionable for me.

Main Notes of Twilly d'Hermes Eau de Parfum

Ginger
Bergamot
Bitter Orange
Jasmine
Sandalwood
Vanilla

Number one thing that turns me off about any perfume is strong alcohol smell right after applying it because it gives me headache. Sadly, that's what happens when I apply Twilly d'Hermes. Alcohol along with ginger is so dominant from the first minutes that it almost makes me feel nauseous. After a few minutes, it dries down to powdery floral scent with little bit of spicesness.  Eevn after that, I don't enjoy it, I guess, it's just not for me.

Longetivity and packaging of Twilly d'Hermes

Longetivity is about 8-9 hours on me, which is great and the packaging, as you can see, is gorgeous __ the box is so beautiful and the full size bottle with a hand-tied silk ribbon is absolutely adorable.

Final thoughts

I really wanted to enjoy wearing this fragrance but unfortunately, it's not for me __ it's overpowering, with stong alcohol, and ginger note at the beginning. I love other perfumes from Hermes, especially Eau de Marveilles, that is my all time favorite fragrance, so I expected so much more from Hermes. If you love strong, bold scent, you might like this fragrance, in that case it will worth to spend $130 on it.

have you tried Twilly d'Hermes yet? Let me know in the comments below.

The Makeup Date at Bloomingdales

Usually, I spend Saturday mornings at my gym, doing Cardio and weight training, but this Saturday was exception because I had to attend The Makeup Date at Bloomingdales. I skipped the Breakfast part and went directly to the  makeup show where different beauty brand representatives showed the audience some new beauty releases and their benefits on the skin (have you seen my InstaStories?)
For the outfit, I chose my black top with  cut-out sleeves and black jeans, golden sandals and a white mini bag with golden accents.

Me _ after the show, wearing my favorite black top and black jeans

Even though I was not lucky enough to get some special prizes that the hosts were giving away, I still received this cute makeup pouch filled with some goodies:

Kiehl's Creme De Corps
Nars Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner
Jo Macone London Blackberry & Bay Cologne
Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly
Trish McEvoy Instant Solutions Triangle Of Light Eye Mask
Tiffany&Co. Eau de Perfume
(I've been wearing this Tiffany&Co. perfume for couple of months and love its scent, so I'm glad I received it in travel size.)

Makeup pouch with some beauty products, (can't wait to check out this eye mask)

After the show was over, I could stay longer to ger a complimentary makeover but I just bought my favorite YSL Tatouage Couture Matte Stain in #11 Rose Illicite and went home, to make sure, my daughter would not be late for her Gymnastics class (mom's responsibilities come first, right?)

Tatcha Instant Dewy Glow Set and Giorgio Armani Master Corrector

Since Summer is about to end, I already started thinking of changing my skincare routine or I would say __ adding few more products to my everyday skincare routine, to make sure that my dry skin will get enough hydration and will have a dewy glow even during colder months.
So, when I saw this Tatcha Skincare For Makeup Lovers Instant Dewy Glow Set at Sephora, I knew, I had to have it. This set includes three skincare essentials, made from pure Japanese ingredients, to give our skin a dewy glow. I haven't used Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil and Violet-C Radiance Mask yet, but I did use Luminous Dewy Skin Mist and so far, I love it. I use it mostly over my makeup and love how my skin gets that dewy glow. (I'm definitely going to do reviews of all these products in upcoming blogposts.)

My under eye dark circles desperately needed some color corrector because recently, they're turning to grey under my Guerlain concealer. So, I bought this Giorgio Armani Master Corrector and I'm glad, I did. I only need little bit of it to give my under eye  area healthy look before applying the concealer. Sometimes I even skip my concealer and set my color corrector with a powder and it looks very natural.

As a VIB ROUGE at Sephora, I often get gifts with my purchases. This time, I received this duo __ Perricone MD Cosmeceuticals Face Finishing Moisturizer and Firming Eye Cream. I hope, they will work great for my dry, sensitive skin.

Have you guys used any of these products? Let me know in the comments below.

Everything you have to know before you visit Liberty Science Center in Jersey City

Since Summer is going to end soon, I'm trying to take my 7 years old daughter to as many interesting places as I can, before she goes to second grade and starts her busy school year. On Tuesday, we visited Liberty Science Center __ Interactive science museum and learning center located in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey (right across Manhattan).

Liberty Science Center, Jersey City

Liberty Science Center Admission Prices:

Science Center Admission __ Adult = $22.75     Child (age 2-12) = $18.75
Combination Pass (Admission + Grossology or one theater show) __ Adult = $28.75  Child = $23.75
Premium Pass (Admission+ Grossology + one theater show) __  Adult = $32.75   Child = $26.75

Museum is open every day from 9:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.

Despite our plan to go to the museum early to avoid standing in long lines, we made to the building only at around 11:00 A.M. but we were lucky, it was not crowdy at all. I decided to buy premium tickets so that we would have access to every excibition in the building, including one Planetarium show and also, the premium Excibition __ Grossology.  We chose the show To Worlds Beyond  that was a full-dome movie about journey through the Solar System with an interactive live presentation.   The movie incorporated the latest information about the solar system. It was very impressive.

Liberty Science Center, second floor, near cafe and planetarium

After that, we went on 4th floor to explore the exhibitions. First we saw Pixel Art that was a giant wall installation made of 952 pilfer dials, each containing more than 1,000 possible color combinations, wich you could rotate to 'turn on' different colors. You can imagine how fun it could be.
Pixel Art exhibition

Then, we decided to see Grossology __ Liberty Science Center's premium exhibition about all things gross about the human body.  I know, it might sound gross, but it was actually fun for kids to crawl and climb through the human body, play games that revealed all the secrets of vomit, odors, boogers, heart and more.

Grossology exhibition

This interactive gentleman was teaching kids what happans inside the nose when you catch cold, while throwing a huge 'booger' out of his nose, time to time (gross, haha)

One of the excibitions my daughetr enjoyed was Infinity Climber __ the world's first suspended climbing play space of its kind. According to Liberty Science Center, the structure itself measures 26 feet wide, 24 feet deep, and 19 feet tall. It is surrounded by 19 miles of hand-threaded wire that forms a protective mesh to prevent climbers from falling to the ground below. It includes multiple routes to explore.

Infinity climber in Liberty Science Center

We also enjoyed Eat and Be Eaten exhibition that was filled with real animals.

Eat and Be Eaten exhibition

Eat and Be Eaten exhibition ( can you find a  lizard in this picture?)

Eat and Be Eaten exhibition

Dream Machine, Dino Dig and Our Hudson Home were also very interesting. Dream Machine was an interactive, sensory exhibition, you had to use bicycle pumps to produce combinations of colors, sounds, and scents (my favorite part) __ some pleasant, some unpleasant. My favorite was Shame station that smelled heavenly.

Dream Machine

Our Hudson Home exhibition was very exiting because from 3:30 P.M. kids got to touch scertain type of fish. We also say how they fed fish.

Obviously I can't talk about every exhibition in one post but as you can guess, it was absolutely worth to visit Liberty Science Center, otherwise why would we spend there 6 hours? haha.

Have you been to this museum yet? What was your favorite exhibition?
Let me know in the comments below.

Laura Mercier Face Polish and Caudalie Deep Cleansing Exfoliator comparison

There is no good skincare routine without a right exfoliator. I personaly can't imagine my daily skincare routine without it, but when you have sensitive skin, you can't afford to try out every physical exfoliator on the market until you find the right one for you, because many of them can be harsh for sensitive skin. So I thought, I would share with you my two favorite face exfoliators: Laura  Mercier 'Flawless Skin Face Polish Scrub' (read my full review here: Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish Scrub) and Caudalie Deep Cleansing Exfoliator that doens't irritate my dry, sensitive skin.

What to expect from Caudalie Deep Cleansing Exfoliator and how to use it

Caudalie claims that this is an effective, natural exfoliator that 'instantly reveals a deeply purified, more even, and smoother complexion. Slough away dead skin and polish your complexion without drying it out. This whipped formula is composed of natural, perfectly round corn beads to gently exfoliate dead  skin __ without causing irritation. It's infused with grape pulp extracts to hydrate your skin, leaving it silky-smooth and healthy-looking. Apply it twice a week to damp skin, focusing on T-zone. Massage delicately and rinse with water, avoid eye area.'

What to expect from Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish Scrub and how to use it

The label claims that this exfoliator 'effectively cleanses and exfoliates, removes dead skin cells to leave skin smooth and even-toned. Suitable for all skin types, Face Polish helps remove dead skin cells with purifying microbeads.
Place a small amount onto your fingertips and gently massage into dampened skin. Then rinse with warm water.'

Let's compare Caudalie and Laura Mercier exfoliators:

                             Caudalie                                                                            Laura Mercier
Doesn't irritate skin                                                                   Can irritate skin if you leave long
Doesn't detect any fragrance in it                                            Slightly scented (pleasant smell, though)
Doesn't break me out                                                                 Doens't breack me out
Less grainy                                                                                  More grainy
Effective                                                                                       Very effective
I can use daily                                                                             I can't use daily
Doesn't contain harmful chemicals

As you can see, Laura Mercier Face Polish is scented, can irritate my sensitive skin if I allow it to stay on my face more than 3 minutes and, also, I can't use it daily, again , because it can irritate my skin, but it's very effective in terms of cleaning pores. Caudalie Deep Cleansing Exfoliator doesn't clean the pores as deep as Laura Mercier does. In terms of price, they are both in same price range: Caudalie Deep Cleansing Exfoliator is $35 and Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish __ $32.

I have repurchased Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polis a few times already, but Caudalie Deep Cleansing Exfoliator is my first tube. I like that I can use it daily without making my skin irritated. Another thing I love about it is that it doesn't contain harmful chemicals.

Have you used any of these exfoliators? Did you like it?  Let me know in the comments below.
