Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation __ is first impression always right?

Happy Friday lovelies,
Sorry, I disturb you in the middle of Black Friday Sale (LoL) , hope you all are doing fine.
You may remember, I recently purchased Bobbi Brown Moisure Rich Foundation SPF15 and I was very excited about it in my Instagram Stories. But have you heard that first impression is not always right? __ well, that is the case here.

Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich FoundationSFP15 Review
Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation
According to it's label, this Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation has to even out the skin tone, minimize the appearance of pores, and conceals imperfections, but honestly, I don't see any of these happening when I apply it.
This Bobbi Brown Foundation made my mornngs miserable because every time I followed my regular morning skin preparing routine for makeup (cleanse + moisturize + prime) this foundation looked like a heavy mask on my skin. So, I decided to apply it after moisturizer without a primer, but it didn't work either __ it looked so greasy on my skin, like a butter that couldn't absorb into the skin.
Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation Review
Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation
After two weeks, trying my best to love this Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation with no luck, I decided to try one more thing before throwing this $50 foundation to trash __ I decided to exclude my moisturizer in my morning routine and apply this foundation right after morning face wash (of course, I moisturized my skin in the evening) and finally, I realized, this way (without prior applying a moisturizer and a primer) I could wear this Bobbi Brown foundation __ it still doesn't cover any imperfections and does nothing special that I usually expect from $50 Foundation to do, but at least, I can use it __ it can look OK for about 4 hours, after that I better be home (LoL) .
One more thing that bothers me about this almost watery concistency foundation is its weird, unpleasant smell, but I have to say, it doesn't irritate my dry, sensitive skin, though.

Have you used this foundation? Did it work for you? Let me know in the comments and have a wonderful weekend ahead.

  1. Such a shame that it doesn't work for you! It's great you found away to use it with a ew changes in your routine, so it wasn't a complete waste of money, but it does sound very frustrating and hard to use :(

Hope you had a lovely thanksgiving and have a great weekend ahead! :)

  5. Oh wow, Nina, you just spared $50 for me! I was about to buy this Bobbi Brown foundation, but I also have dry skin - or some patches that are dry - and very sensitive skin, so I won't buy a foundation like that, watery, bad smell... no! Thank you! Hope you have a lovely weekend!

    1. I'm glad this review was just in time for you, Denise. It would frustrate you too, because I also have dry skin especially in cold months, and it's so difficult to make this work. Wish you a lovely weekend ahead, dear.

I really like a natural look and a buttery makeup won't help!

  13. I've never used this foundation, and I don't know that I ever would, but this is a great reminder of why you should always use a product more than once before deciding an opinion. Thanks for the reminder!

  18. Aww, what a shame Nina, I would've expected way more from Bobbi Brown. Reading this reminded me that I should really take out my Bobbi Brown foundation for a use again. Have completely forgotten about it!

  21. Ah, I see. I have never tried any thing from Bobbi Brown, I don't think, but it sounds like I'd give this one a miss. There are some good cheaper foundations, if you spend more, you really want them to work well for you.

  24. I've never tried it, but completely agree with your logic. Finding the right foundation (the way it's supposed to be worn and look) is a science! It takes a lot of trial and error. Props to you for not giving up right away!

  26. Thanks for providing your honest thoughts and experience with this foundation with us! For $50, I'd expect it to be a bit more versatile and work easily within any skin regimen, but I'm glad you were able to at least find a way to use it and get your money's worth! Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you're having a great week so far!
