Dior Capture Totale Serum de Teint review

As I promised last week, today I'm going to share with you my thoughts on this Dior Capture Totale Serum de Teint foundation that I recently bought. First of all, let me remind you that I've been looking for a perfect foundation for my dry, sensitive skin for about a year now, I'm not kidding. The only foundation that met my expectation was La Mer fluid foundation that did a miracle to my skin it was like botox in fluid haha. It made my compexion looked flawless, literaly all day. The only problem was that I got a sample and when I finish it, I was not sure I wanted to pay $150 on it, even though it was the best foundation I've used last 2 years. (but looks like, I will have no choice but buy it sometime soon).
Anyways, back to the subject:
After I read almost all  5-star reviews on this Dior Capture Totale Serum de Teint foundation and also, read the label __ "Totale Serum foundation is the first Dior foundation capable of acting on the 3 dimensions of a radiantly youthful complexion: smooth micro-surface, even skin tone and luminosity. With its unique blend of anti-aging ingredients, Broad Spectrum SPF 25, optical correctors, and HD liquid crystal pigments, Dior Capture Totale Foundation is a revolutionary serum foundation that offers radiant, high-definition perfection in every dimension," __ I was  almost sure, I found my all-time favorite foundation.

I got this Dior liquid foundation 1 shade darker (that's what I do almost every spring/summer so that my skin will not be too fair,) and I'm glad, I did, because it nicely covered all the redness I occasionally experience in hot weather.)

Number one thing I liked about this Dior Capture Totale Serum de Teint is that it has SPF 25, which is very important. Also, it didn't irritate my sensitive skin.
I applied this liquid foundation with a primer and without primer. Without primer, it looked awful from the beginning, because it accentuated my pores around my nose. On top of my Guerlain primer it looked OK for about 4-5 hours, (which is not enough for me, I expected more from $82 foundation) after 5 hours, my makeup looked greasy and cakey on my dry skin.

Even though, my Dior concealer disappointed me 2 years ago, and since then, I haven't bought any Dior makeup product, I still decided to give another Dior product a try but again, it didn't work for my skin .
I had so high expectation about this serum foundation but unfortunatly it's not for me, and as you can guess, it was not worth my $82, so I just returned it to Sephora. (I have spent enough money on 'wrong' makeup  products, so I'm glad, I was able to return it this time.)

Have you tried this foundation? Let me know in the comments below and have a fabulous day.

  5. I'm sorry to hear that this foundation didn't work out for you! I always hate how expensive makeup can be, although I usually try to keep individual makeup items under $100. Skincare, however, is a totally different story haha.

  6. Aw, man! I'm sorry this one didn't work out, especially with that hefty price tag. Do you ever return your products to Sephora when they don't work out for you? My mom does and she gets her money back, it seems like they have a great return policy. I guess the price is justified for the La Mer. Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts on this one and I hope you have a great day, beauty!

  11. I love Dior Makeup but I don't think it's worth the hefty price tag. That being said the DiorShow mascara and the new squeezable mascara are absolutely amazing and I don't mind paying their price!

  21. That is really a huge letdown, I'd expect more from a foundation that expensive as well.

  23. I don't think this is even out in the UK, is it? It looks gorgeous, a shame you didn't like it, but it doesn't sound like I would either, thank you for sharing. I am not that impressed with Dior foundations in general tbh. Great review xxx
