Is it worth to spend money on Dior 'Diorskin' Star Sculpting& Brightening concealer

Happy Monday everyone, hope you had a wonderful weekend. Here, it was freezing cold, so didn't really enjoy this weekend. Ok, so now let's talk about this Dior Diorskin Star Brightening concealer.  I was so excited about this product's brightening effect claim, that as soon as I got a chance, I went to Nordstrom and bought it:

Dior Diorskin Star concealer
I like my current  Estee Lauder concealer, but I' love exploring new products, so unless beauty products do some magic on me (LoL) and make me want to go back to them, I usually don't repurchase the same products. (there are a few exceptions, though: These *Lancome 'Translucence' Mattifying Silky Pressed powder and *Lancome 'Photogenic Lumessence' Light Mastering&Line Smoothing Foundation, SPF15 Sunscreen ) I have already repurchased a few times and will do, again, they are absolutely incredible. So, I decided to give this Dior concealer a try.

                                                                       The label claims:
It's an illuminating, stretch-effect concealer for eyes sculpted by light. Dark circles are instantly neutralized and the eye contour is unified and illuminated. Day after day, signs of fatigue fade away for more dazzling eyes.

Dior Diorskin Star concealer
My experience:
This is a medium coverage (more , lighter side) concealer with a built-in applicator. It really brightens under eye area as soon as I apply it, this Dior concealer goes on smoothly and creates natural look. But God forbid you forgot to apply some pressed powder on top of that __ you will notice every single finest line under your eyes, that you didn't even know, you had. This Diorskin Star Brightening concealer settles into fine lines after an hour (?!) The only way you can avoid that is if you set it with a pressed powder. But here you will face another problem __ you must not smile (LoL) otherwise, your fine lines will be fully emphasized

Now, is it worth it to spend money on this Dior concealer ?
No! __ unless you have so much money that you don't know whereelse to spend. I don't think, you should spend $36 on 6 ml concealer that can crease in an hour after applying it. And, I'm talking about one of the high-end beauty brands (?). I'm so disappointed that I don't thinks I will ever have a desire to buy any Dior makeup product.

Have you tried this concealer? I would love to hear about your experience.

  1. Thanks for a great review of this product. As soon as I heard it makes lines visible under your eyes I knew this would not be for me. It is such a shame that there are such expensive products out there like this that do not help at all and it sounds like this one makes it worst. Thanks for sharing this with us.

  21. Fantastic review! I am a fan of dior...love their nude skin range. I thought of trying this but as it sinks into fine lines, I will give purchasing a second thought. At this age, I can't afford for my fine lines to emphasized. Lol

  32. I am like that too , unless a product i buy for the first time does exactly what it says on the label that made me purchase it in the first place i'm not going back to it , so if the Dior conealer is not worth it i don't think i'll be spending that much on it. Glad you shared your experience here. Great post.

  35. What a shame this didn't work out especially for the price. I guess the brightening effect means nothing if it settles into fine lines and creases so much. You will just have to give up smiling to wear it haha just joking :D x

  41. I used to buy beauty products from big brand like Dior, Chanel etc but most of the time they're disappointing, they don't meet my expectations plus they're expensive as hell and to be honest the price you pay is not worth it because you only pay the packaging.
